New 86 gets exterior and interior updates

Months after its debut at the 2016 New York International Auto Show, the updated 2017 Toyota 86 is now here in the Philippines. It sports a fresher look, as well as a revised interior.
Beginning with its front fascia, it gets a tweaked bumper with a lower stance and a wider air intake. This redesign also draws from the Lexus LFA with its faux air vents on the corners of the front bumper. The headlights, on the other hand, get new daytime running lights (DRLs). At the rear, it has redesigned combination taillights which are now illuminated by LEDs. The rear bumper has been given an aerodynamic makeover with a new shape and the addition of a more aggressive diffuser. The side relatively carries over apart from the new '86' badging.

More changes carry on inside of the 2017 Toyota 86. To start off, the steering wheel now has buttons for audio and cruise control have been updated. Its infotainment system also gets an upgrade with a capacitive touch screen display audio with smartphone mirror link via WiFi function. On top of that, the meter gauges and multi-information display have been given a mild redesign.
Under the hood, is still the familiar 2.0-liter FA20 Boxer engine that produces 200 PS and 205 Nm. It can be paired with either with a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
